As far as Product Red and Dell goes, in order to purchase the "Red" computer the price of the computer goes up $300 dollars and Dell only donates $80 of that. Dell rationalizes that by "adding in" software at an inflated price.
Why does it have to fall on the consumer for companies to donate ot an organization? If there were no one buying products, will that company donate money. This is just another way for consumers to make money but how does the consumer know that their money is actually going towards the cause, if any it is a small percentage. Just a thought.
